Accountable to the President and CEO, Gregg Mitchell serves as Director of Philanthropy. To the Student Freedom Initiative, he brings decades of work in organizational development in legal and medical education, conservation, and community development. He led comprehensive multi-million campaigns for the African Wildlife Foundation, Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake, the Kennedy-Krieger Institute, and as part of a major gift team for the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. Focused on his career both on capital and strategic program development, Gregg helped create clinical legal experience programs for underserved populations, secure support for minority scholarships and undertake equitable community development to enhance minority homeownership. His work in Africa involved securing funds to protect wildlands in ways that benefitted local communities.
