Student Freedom Initiative ("SFI")

Accountable to the Program Director – MSI Capacity Building for the execution of the HBCU Capacity Building component, including Information Technology (IT) infrastructure modernization, broadband, and other emerging technology initiatives that enable Minority Serving institutions (MSIs) to be more resilient and competitive.

As the Project Manager for Broadband, Shawn has over 30+ years of subject matter expertise in the design, planning and deployment of data & network ops centers, FTTx broadband internet, digital microwave and fiber optic transport networks, fixed wireless solutions, CV2X and GPS based vehicle telematics, EV charging systems and Smart Buildings/Smart Cities IoT/5G mobile technologies.

Shawn has been involved in the design and deployment of telecommunications networks both domestically and internationally across a wide array of OEM vendor platforms, US local exchange carriers and managed internet service providers.

Shawn holds both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Business from Indiana Wesleyan University located in Marion, IN, and resides in the North Central Ohio area.
