Project Manager – Broadband
Student Freedom Initiative ("SFI")

Accountable to the Program Director – MSI Capacity Building for the execution of the HBCU Capacity Building component, including Information Technology (IT) infrastructure modernization, broadband, and other emerging technology initiatives that enable Minority Serving institutions (MSIs) to be more resilient and competitive. As the Project Manager for Broadband, Ken provides subject matter expertise in broadband internet, telecommunications carrier infrastructure, municipal fiber, fixed wireless, and 5G technologies.

Ken has over 20+ years of experience working in the telecommunication and technology industries, including Internet Service Providers, telecommunications infrastructure owners/operators, mobile and wireless network engineering firms, and cybersecurity startups. Ken brings an extensive understanding of National, Regional, and Metro fiber networks with established contacts for uncommon Regional private dark fiber network owner/operators.

A passionate advocate for universal broadband access, Ken volunteers his time in support of initiatives to provide affordable and reliable broadband to underserved communities in the inner city of Baltimore, MD. Ken is a graduate of James Madison University located in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
